Review of Abbott Longbow:

I am thrilled with the performance of this amazing longbow!

I have been shooting traditional bows for over forty years, and this is the smoothest, fastest, most forgiving longbow I have ever shot! It is incredibly lightweight, yet extremely hard-hitting and accurate, with almost no hand shock.

Crafted from multiple layers of osage orange and beautifully finished with accents of ebony, the bow is 68” long and pulls 85# at 31”, but because of the masterfully-engineered design, narrow limb tips and graceful tiller, it is surprisingly easy to pull—it feels at least 10 pounds lighter than other bows of comparable weight. The cast of the bow is impressive, sending my 1000 grain arrows with 8” long fletching over 190 yards.

As outstanding as the bow looks and shoots, the service Steve and Chris provide is even better. They are truly men of their word, and a pleasure to do business with.

Thanks Steve and Chris for a fantastic experience!

Best Wishes,

Dr. Ronald Blum

Hello Steve here are a few words about the bow I got from you ............Chuck

First I would like to thank Steve for his time and patience with all my questions.

I had an oportunity to shoot an Abbott longbow at a 3D in April and was impressed with the bow from the first shot. It was just a delight to shot so forgiving and consistent that I knew I wanted my own. I talked with Steve via email and phone and decided on the bow I wanted. When it arrived I knew that it was 66" 35#@28 with bacote over maple and a cocobolo riser and overlays but was taken aback by one of the best looking bows I had ever seen. My first words were "FANFRIGGENTASTIC." I just had to see if it shot as good as it looked.

After tying on a nock point I weighed the bow which scales 35 1/4 lbs. at 28 just where Steve said it would be. Before hand I had used Stu Millers calculator to find a arrow to get stared with; 1716 easton platinum 29" long,100gr. points, 3- 5" lw feathers left offset sheild. I went to15 yards and produced an 3" group of 3 arrows the first time. I than reset the nock point and shot like groups from 8-22 yds. The next day I did a paper test and had to make another nock adjustment to get optimal flight. I than shot another group from 15 yds. than a bear shaft which grouped right in there with the fletched arrows. I have been shooting longbows since 1984 and find that this bow is one of the best bows I have ever had the pleasure to shoot. The reason for that I think is in the design of the grip, it places you hand in the same spot each and every time and this adds to the bow being so consistent. By the way the calculator said the bow would shoot that arrow at 170 fps, when chrono'd I got a 9 arrow average of 174fps. In my opinion the bow has everything I need; looks, forgivness, consistency, speed, smoothnes of draw, what else do you need! You hear a lot of people say" the bow shoots where I look" that is the case with this bow.every time I loose an arrow. Steve builds an exceptional bow with quality components at a reasonable price which is why I'm proud to say " I would reccomend Abbott Longbow to anyone who wants a fine shooting bow"

Just wanted to take a couple of minutes shoot you a quick review on the bow.

I'd like to say that I've shot a million longbows but none compare to the Abbott, but I can't. I can,'t because out of nearly 40 years of shooting, this is the first longbow that I've ever picked up and I never knew what I was missing. I spent years all wrapped up in the techno world of the compound bow. Recently it dawned on me that archery was so complex and complicated it just wasn't fun anymore. I met a couple of traditional shooters at our local range and the bug hit.

I had the pleasure of meeting you and shooting a few of your bows at our last 3-D shoot and the one that went home with me was a 70" 45# with cocobolo riser and bamboo limbs. It took a week for my cedar shafts to arrive, but I finished the arrows this morning and immediately headed to the range. In less than an hour, I found the sweet spot for the brace height and set the nock point. I stuffed three arrows in my back pocket and hit the course. I am amazed at how smooth the bow is on the draw, how quiet it is upon release. The bow has almost zero hand shock. The bow fits me like a fine glove and it's almost magical how it shoots where I look. Goodbye sights, goodbye to all the gizmos and gadgets, goodbye toolbox for I have found archery nirvana again. My spirit is renewed and I just wanted to say thank you.

P.S. You were dead on with the spine recommendation. 55-60 POC cut 30.5 with 5 inch feathers. 470 grains +/- 5 and 100 gr field points. They fly like darts.
